2 Minutes With… Sofia Mclellan

Get to know Sofia – from leading 1,700 students to the Alps to dreaming of skydiving, here’s a whirlwind intro to our newest Account Exec.

1. What’s been your biggest ‘pinch me’ moment in your career so far?
   As I’ve only recently graduated from university, my career is still in its early stages. However, one of my proudest moments came during my time as President of the Loughborough University Snowsports Club. Under my leadership, we grew to become the largest sports club on campus. A standout achievement was leading and coordinating the first ever joint ski trip between Loughborough and the University of Nottingham, taking over 1,700 students to Val Thorens over Easter. Receiving the award “President of the Year” out of 63 sports clubs was my biggest ‘pinch me’ moment.
2. What made you want to work in advertising/creative/education?
   During my degree, I took modules like Marketing Communications and Digital Marketing. I was selected by my lecturer to act as Account Manager for a team project, where I took on the responsibility of coordinating tasks and conducting research. I found the experience both engaging and motivating, and the fact that I achieved a first-class grade in the module showed that the enjoyment translated into results.
3. Best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
   Invest consistently in learning, but more importantly, in applying that learning with context.
4. If you could swap roles with someone at Hunterlodge for a day, who would it be?
   Wookey (the office dog). He’s living his best life.
